8 months old

Benjamin,

Only 4 more months until we celebrate your 1st birthday. Wow this year is just flying by. What a joy these last 8 months have been.


I can officially say you are all over place now. My goodness, you are tough to keep out of trouble. You went from crawling to pulling up within a matter of 2 weeks. You can pull up on anything and are starting to take small steps around the furniture.

You have little falls all the time now. I do my best to prevent them, but I am not always successful. You are learning though, which is a good thing. I guess a few bruises aren't the worst thing in the world. Yesterday you fell and bit your tongue, seeing you bleed was very scary. But you got over it so quick you are such a trooper. Lets just try not to do that anymore.

I think your favorite thing to do right now is climb the stairs. We stay close behind you to make sure you don't fall and you are getting quicker and quicker. If we didn't have the stairs blocked off I think you would try to be on them all day long.

You have gotten a few teeth in this month. Your top two are here and the ones right next to them are working their way in. You are so good while you are teething. You get a little fussy sometimes, but we just give you some advil and you are as good as new. We are so thankful that it doesn't effect your sleep.

You got sick last week and we took you in to the doctor for a bad cold. The doctor also said you had fluid in your ears, so we got some prescriptions and you are feeling much better. They weighed you while you were in and you were just over 20 lbs. I am interested to see how long you are when we go back in next month for your 9 month check up. I feel like you have gotten so tall.

You are still eating great. And you LOVE snacks. You have started using a sippy cup a little bit. You really enjoy drinking out of it and are getting it figured out.

You continue to be the absolute sweetest baby. We all just adore you. There is absolutely nothing better than when you snuggle up to us. And now you have started crawling over to us and pulling on our legs when you want to be picked up. It is adorable.

9 months

Sweet baby boy,

I can't believe that you are growing so fast and won't be a baby much longer. It is so crazy to me how much this first year is flying by.

You are moving around like a little crazy guy. You can crawl SO fast! Especially when you set your eye on something that you want, you just take off. Your fastest crawling seems to happen when you are trying to get to something you know you are not supposed to have. Like the stairs, the open refrigerator door, Gracie's food bowl, etc...

The weather is getting warm and we took you swimming for the first time this month. You absolutely loved it! You are such a little water baby. It seems like you have no fear whatsoever. You were sticking your face in the water and coming back up with a huge smile. I think swimming lessons are going to be a blast with you!

You can now walk assisted. Molly was very sweet to pass on to you this little green walking dinosaur. You were a little unsteady with it at first but within a couple hours you were cruising!! I am impressed. I am sure you will be up and walking on your own before long.

We went to the doctor this month for your check up and boy you have grown!! You are now 30 1/4" long which is 95 percentile. You are a very tall little boy. You weigh just under 21 lbs which is only 50 percentile. So you are very long and lean.

The doctor gave us the okay to give you more finger foods because of all your teeth. You currently have four on top and two on bottom. We have started feeding you a waffle in the morning. You LOVE it. I just tear it up into pieces and you gobble up the whole thing.

You are still good at eating all of your vegetables and fruit. We are introducing them to you in small pieces instead of pureed in baby food, you are starting to get the hang of it.

Your little personality is really coming through. You are a very social baby. You love when people are around and smiling for them. You have started this new smile that takes up your whole face it is so adorable. It is such a big smile that your eyes squint. I think you are just the happiest baby in the world!

You are still taking two naps a day and sleep 11 to 12 hours a night. Thank you for being such a good sleeper. It is such a blessing!!

7 months

Benjamin,

Sweet boy, you are seven months old now. You are growing up so much it is crazy how quickly you are learning and changing. Every day is a new day and you are always surprising us with your new tricks.

Over the last month you have been working so hard on learning how to crawl and just in the last few days you have got it completely figured out! Now our job has really started with keeping you out of trouble! But it is so fun to watch you move around and explore.

You have been sleeping great lately! You are taking 2 to 3 naps a day, usually about 4 hours total. And then sleeping at night from 7:30pm to 6:30-7:00am. I don't have to worry about you at night anymore. You very rarely wake up. That is such a huge blessing!!

We just lowered your mattress in your bed so if you sit up you don't go tumbling out. We have seen you do it once and know that within the next few days you will probably have it totally figured out.

You are still a great eater with 4 bottles a day and 3 meals of fruits and veggies. You are also now feeding yourself some finger foods. You really like the Gerber puffs and Mum Mums to snack on.

You have started clapping your little hands it is so cute. You are also really experimenting with talking and figuring out how loud you can be. It is pretty funny.


We left you for the first time a couple of weeks ago while we took a little vacation. You stayed at home and your Mummu came to stay with you then your Nana and Grandpa came the last few nights. You were so good while we were gone!! We were so so proud of you. Coming home to see you was the sweetest part of the trip!

You were baptized last weekend! It was very special and you looked absolutely adorable! You were decked out in a little khaki suit and bow tie. Oh I just wanted to eat you up. The whole family was there to celebrate. You are such a joy to everyone and I hope you know just how much you are loved!

Benjamin,

You are 6 months old. It is hard to believe we have been able to look into those beautiful eyes for half a year now. This is without a doubt my favorite age so far. Here is a little bit about what you are up to this month:

You are doing great in your schedule during the day. You take 3 naps a day. You are getting better and better about taking long naps and staying up 2 to 3 hours in between. It is a very nice change from taking a nap every hour. And the best part is that you sleep for 11 hours straight without me having to get out of bed at night. It is so wonderful!!

You are a little rolling machine. There is no staying still anymore. I put you in one spot and you just roll over to where you want to go. I am amazed at how far you can get. You have started getting up on your knees and rocking. It won't be too long before you are really on the move.

You are starting to get good at sitting up without leaning on anything. Your strength and balance improves every day.

You have two teeth. It is so cute when they show through your smile!!  You continue to be a very smiley happy baby. People always get a kick out of you when you just look at them and smile.

You have really taken to eating your baby food. You eat 3 meals a day. You seem to like bananas, apples, pears, carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. We just started giving you some egg yolks with your cereal in the morning.

The one thing you don't really like anymore is getting your diaper changed because I make you stay still. You are not a fan. I can sometimes distract you with a toy for a minute, but I have to be quick!

At the doctor this month you were 27 inches long (70%) and weighed just under 19 lbs (75%). It seems like your growing has slowed down a little bit, but we will see if that changes.

Time is going so fast and you are changing so much every day. I can't wait to see what you are up to in another 6 months.

5 months

Sweet Benjamin,

You are 5 months old now! You are growing up so much and changing every day. Your biggest change this month is your are now rolling over.  You first rolled from you back to your tummy at Noni and Papa's house. It seem that you just like to do things for the first time there. You were pretty funny because once you figured out how to do you started doing it all the time. The second we put you on your back you roll over to your tummy.

You are really scooting around and reaching for your toys to play with. It won't be long until you will be crawling all over the house! That is scary to think about.

You just had your first Christmas!!! It was so much fun having you to celebrate with this year. You got so much fun new stuff. There are plenty of people buying you gifts. You are definitely not short on love.

Santa brought you your first car! I can't wait until you can sit up and ride in it all by yourself. I can see us having a lot of fun with this little car.

Of course you were the center of our Christmas card this year. Everyone just thinks you are the cutest thing!!

You seem to just be getting sweeter and sweeter. Everywhere we take you people just compliment you like crazy. You are always smiling at everyone and making their day. I will never get tired of those smiles so keep them coming!

This weekend your first tooth came through! We can't wait to see what next month will bring!!
